The medieval village of Cotignac in the Var is an idyllic rural location which is also is close to major centres such as Aix-en-Provence, Nice, Marseille and St. Tropez.

With beautiful views this well appointed villa is an ideal holiday location set in tranquil countryside - a perfect location to relax and enjoy the beauty of Provence or visit the many attractions in the surrounding area. There are many beaches all within an hour's drive as well as the magnificent Gorge du Verdon, water sports and local vineyards.

Cotignac is a “village de caractère” and one of the most beautiful villages in France. It is very popular with tourists having retained all of its local charm and boasting a wealth of history and natural beauty. Situated at the foot of a magnificent tuff rock the lively village is well served by restaurants and shops set around the tree lined square. It is a vibrant, friendly village with many shops, cafés, bars and restaurants. On Tuesdays a large Provençal market dominates the main Square. The village lies 45 mins to 1 hour between the beautiful beaches of the French Riviera and the Gorges du Verdon, making it an ideal base to explore from.

The nearest beaches to reach are around Ste Maxime and Frejus (50mins) both with Aquaparks for the children. Drive south across the Maures hills to reach Grimaud, Port Grimaud and St Tropez (1hr). North, the unspoilt Lac St Croix (45mins) is a must, with swimming and many water sports on its turquoise water. Further on the dramatic Gorges du Verdon (50mins), France's own Grand Canyon, has canoeing, rafting and the most spectacular scenery.

Nearby places to visit include the Abbey du Thoronet, the waterfall at Sillans-la-Cascade, the Chateau at Entrecasteaux and the many picturesque villages such as Villecroze and Toutour 'the village in the sky'.
